Grain Farmers of Ontario is hosting several meetings across the province to address the high levels of DON that were found in corn in several areas of the province.
From January 7 to January 18, GFO officials will be stopping in several communities as part of their annual district meetings.
They have also invited local politicians to hear from farmers about the losses due to corn production that they are incurring because of this year’s severe outbreak.
GFO is estimating that more than one million acres of corn was impacted and farmers are faced with losses without any BRM coverage.
The production cost losses to farmers could potentially be $200 million.
Resources and information have been put together by the GFO and can be found here.
