Portions of southern Ontario may see a different form of precipitation this week.
Environment Canada upgraded a special weather statement Tuesday morning to a freezing rain warning for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, London-Middlesex and Elgin County.
The weather agency says freezing rain is expected to move over the area starting Tuesday and ending by noon Wednesday as the temperature rises above freezing again. There was already rain in the forecast for Monday but a cold front moving in will push temperatures down, and any snowmelt is expected to freeze.
Ice may form on untreated areas, which means driving could be tricky on Wednesday morning.
