A community café scheduled to take place later this week has prompted the municipality to extend services for CK Transit.
Mark Ceppi, the engineering technologist for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, had previously said the event would go over a range of topics revolving around transportation. He said the municipality would like public input on what can be improved.
To make sure that more residents who utilize public transportation are actually able to make it out to the event, buses will be available until 8:15 p.m. and run from the Thames Campus Arena to the rider's nearest bus stop. Chatham and Wallaceburg Accessible Transit services will also be extended for registered accessible transit users attending the event. Regular fares will apply.
The community café is set to take place Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. The deadline to register for the event is on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Anyone who wishes to attend is encouraged to register by contacting Steve Taylor by email at stevenj.taylor@bteng.ca or by phone at 519-672-2222.
