Police recover stolen records intended for fundraising auction

Chatham-Kent police have recovered two framed The Tragically Hip records that were stolen from a display as part of a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.

The records were reported stolen from Food Basics on St. Clair Street in Chatham. Police previously said a man walked into the store on February 17 and took off with one the records. Then the same man allegedly walked into the store the next day and took off with a second framed record.

On Wednesday afternoon, police said both records have since been recovered. Officers also mentioned that a suspect has been identified and efforts to locate him are underway.

In the meantime, the records have been returned to Food Basics.

Police are thanking those who helped in the investigation.
