A 30-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted in connection with a pair of shoplifting incidents in the area is facing charges now.
Officers said the woman was arrested Tuesday night after police received a call about two diamond rings being stolen from Charm Diamond Centres at the Downtown Chatham Centre on King Street in Chatham.
Police said the rings are worth about $1,800 each, adding that officers were able to recover both of them when they searched the woman.
She was also arrested on outstanding warrants in connection with two other shoplifting complaints at Sport Chek and the LCBO.
The accused was charged with three counts of theft and two counts of possession of the stolen property before she was later released with conditions and a future court date.
