Chatham teen airlifted to London hospital after ATV crash

A 16-year-old Chatham teen is being treated for critical injuries in a London hospital after an ATV he was driving hit a tree.

Chatham-Kent police said emergency crews were called to the scene on Darrell Line at around 6 p.m. Monday.

The initial investigation shows that the ATV the boy was driving was heading west on Darrell Line when it went off the road and hit a tree on the north side of the embankment.

The teen was rushed to the hospital in Chatham and then airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London.

The traffic unit has taken over the investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Daniel Clark at danielc@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
