Bingo proceeds go towards Children's Treatment Centre

The IODE Captain Garnet Brackin group is once again helping out the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent with a financial boost.

Using proceeds from Riverview Bingo in Chatham, the group has donated $5,000 to the foundation's Butterfly Building campaign. The CTC Foundation has been collecting funds for a new state-of-the-art facility in Chatham, to better serve more children in the community.

The IODE Captain Garnet Brackin group has supported local charities over the past 35 years. A previous donation to the foundation made in November 2018 brings their donation total up to $10,000. The money donated will go towards a family meeting room at the new Children's Treatment Centre building, which will be located on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

“As a parent of a child that has gone to the Children’s Treatment Centre, a family meeting room is something that I wish we would have been able to use during our time there,” said Tracy Bultje in a statement. “Our sincere thanks to the IODE group for designating funds towards this space for the new Children’s Treatment Centre.”

The Children's Treatment Centre currently serves 3,200 children and youth. It’s projected that the number will grow to 4,500 by 2020. The new facility will feature a new gym, rooms dedicated to therapy, as well as an updated pool.
