Windsor has some of the worst roads in SW Ontario

The Canadian Automobile Association's (CAA) list of Worst Roads for 2019 has come out and Windsor owns three of the top five in southwestern Ontario.

Ypres Avenue, College Avenue, and Tecumseh Road East in Windsor came second, third, and fifth, respectively. Tecumseh Road East has been on the list for several years.

Plank Road in Sarnia topped the list while Vidal Street South in Sarnia placed fourth in southwestern Ontario.

Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent topped the southwest Ontario list last year, but Chatham-Kent doesn't have any roads on the notorious list this year.

The worst road in all of Ontario was Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto.

Windsor also had three of the worst roads in southwestern Ontario in the top five in 2018. Seminole Street, Huron Church Road, and Tecumseh Road East all made the list last year.

"The CAA's annual Worst Roads campaign has influenced change, resulting in repaving and repair work done to many of the roads that have appeared on Ontario’s Worst Roads list and there’s more to come," said the CAA.

The Worst Roads campaign gives Ontarians a chance to make roads safer by helping different levels of governments understand what road improvements are important to citizens and where they need to be made.
