Man charged with assault
A man is facing charges after an alleged early morning assault in Chatham.
It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday when police were called to a disturbance near a King Street business. Officers located a 47-year-old Wallaceburg man who was injured and attended to by medical services.
Police discovered that a man in his 20s allegedly assaulted the Wallaceburg man. He was arrested and charged with assault.

Man charged with breaching conditions
A Chatham man is facing charges after being caught somewhere he wasn't supposed to be.
According to police, on Friday night the man was seen at a business on Grand Avenue West where he was under court conditions not to attend.
He was unable to provide a lawful reason why he was there and was therefore arrested for breaching his court release conditions. The 36-year-old man was taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and lodged for a bail hearing.
Domestic incident leads to arrest
An early morning domestic incident has left one man in police headquarters.
It started when officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence in Chatham around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. According to police, a 65-year-old man had allegedly assaulted his common-law girlfriend after a verbal argument turned physical.
He was arrested, charged with assault and taken to police headquarters where he awaits a bail hearing.
Road safety reminder
After several collisions, police are issuing a reminder to drivers to use patience while on roadways.
Police say, in the last 24 hours, they've responded to 15 motor vehicle collisions in Chatham-Kent. With the school year coming to an end, Chatham-Kent Police Services are asking drivers to pay attention while behind the wheel and to drive with care.
