Car windshield damaged in Chatham

Police are looking for more information after some mischief happened in Chatham Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, around 4 p.m. they were called to a residence on Southend Cresent for reports of some damage done to a car. When officers arrived they saw that the windshield of caller's Hyundai had been smashed.

The damage appeared to have been done by two blunt force impacts and its pegged at around $500.

Disturbance call leads to arrest

A man was arrested after allegedly causing a drunken disturbance Tuesday night in Chatham.

Police say they were called to the area of Baldoon Road around 9:50 p.m. after getting a complaint of a disturbance. When they arrived, officers located and arrested a 39-year-old man for being intoxicated in a public place. He was held in police custody until he sobered up.

Vape shop damaged

Police are investigating after someone did some early morning damage to a local business.

The incident happened around 4:13 a.m. Wednesday morning when an unknown suspect or suspects threw a rock at the front door of The Ontario Electronic Vape Store, located at 218 Queen St. in Chatham.

As a result, the store's glass door received a large crack. Damage is estimated around $200.

Man arrested on warrant 

An anonymous caller is being thanked after police located a person who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Police got the call around 5 p.m. Tuesday and were provided with the location of a man wanted for alleged drug-related offences.

Officers located the man and after a short foot chase, arrested him. The 41-year-old was held for a bail hearing.
