Another big ticket draw is starting to heat up in Chatham-Kent.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent is running its annual 50/50 fundraiser.
Last year, they ran the draw at the International Plowing Match.
"The winner took home just over $89,000," said Casework Program Manager Amanda Clark. "That was a record set then, the hospital just set a new record, so we just want to keep setting new records, I think that's something that Chatham-Kent is really good at."
Clark added that their draw is very similar to one the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation ran last month, which saw the winner take home over $149,000.
"Same price points, 10 numbers for $10, 60 numbers for $20, and 200 number for $50. We're just really hoping to keep the momentum going from the hospital foundation, and get our prize to be really high."
At last check, it was over $7,500, and Clark said all the money raised stays in Chatham-Kent.
"All of our innovative programming at Big Brothers Big Sisters. So, we have our traditional match program, Big Brothers Big Sisters in-school programming, Go Girls Game On," said Clark. "You know all the money does stay locally and helps well over 300 children a year."
The draw will take place on August 17 at 9 p.m. at Bikefest in Tecumseh Park in Chatham. Tickets can be purchased online at Big5050raffle.ca.
