Ice cream sandwiches recalled

Two brands of ice cream sandwiches are being recalled from store shelves over concerns that there may be small pieces of metal inside them.

On Friday, Canadian dairy cooperative Agropur announced the voluntary recall of Iceberg brand and Originale Augustin brand ice cream sandwiches. The sandwiches were sold in Quebec, Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

The recalled products include Iceberg brand sandwiches sold in boxes of 8 and the Originale Augustin brand sold in boxes of 30.

The impacted products should not be consumed and The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is instructing anyone who has the ice cream sandwiches in their home to throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased.
