'Read with a Wrestler' coming to two CK libraries

A unique reading experience is coming to Chatham-Kent this summer.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library will be hosting "Read with a Wrestler" in August, giving kids and parents the chance to hear a story read by Canadian wrestler Cody Deaner.

Deaner is a Port Bruce native who has been a professional wrestler since 2000, working across North America with well-known wrestling companies including WWE and Impact Wrestling. He has also worked as a motivational speaker for the last six years.

According to Stefanie Yeoman, media contact with the Chatham-Kent Public Library, Deaner will combine the art of wrestling with motivational speaking.

"He delivers engaging and dynamic presentations, using the power of storytelling to teach important life principles," said Yeoman. "Deaner will share his love of reading and his personal wrestling experiences with the audience."

Deaner will be at the Chatham branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library on Thursday, August 29 and 11 a.m. then at the Blenheim Branch at 1:30 p.m. the same day.

"Read with a Wrestler" is free to attend and no registration is needed. The Chatham-Kent Public Library suggests that the event is best suited for children ages eight to 12 years of age.
