The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board (CKWPB) is holding its 3rd annual CK Works Job Fair on Tuesday.
More than 50 employers will be there looking to fill around 600 positions from a variety of sectors.
"We've got some manufacturing, we've got some food, we've got some retail, we've got some health care, we've got some educations components," said Project Manager Kristy Jacobs. "The jobs levels are also very representative. We've got entry-level positions for people that are just looking to get into the workforce, we've got some upper levels for people who've maybe been in and are looking for some changes."
Jacobs added that the CKWPB will also have resources for job hunters.
"We've got a job seeker section that's available for you to come in and kind of prep yourself, and have a quick review of your resume if you haven't already," said Jacobs. "We have some community partners who work with employment, to come in and kind of help you, and guide you, and give you some other thoughts and suggestions."
As for how many people will attend the jobs fair, Jacobs said it's difficult to estimate.
"The first year that we did it we had about 400 folks through. Last year we had 700, and we are probably on target for about this same this year, but who knows," said Jacobs. "It's supposed to be a beautiful day, so it's a great day to come out and change your life."
The job fair is taking place at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre on Richmond St. in Chatham from 2-7 p.m on October 1. Attendees are asked to bring their resume with them and to come dressed for interviews.
