Legendary drummer Ginger Baker dies at 80

Drummer and co-founder of power-trio Cream has passed away at the age of 80 according to CNN.

While in the Cream, the U.K. rocker rose to prominence in the 60s and became known for his unpredictable drumming technique and showmanship.

Following the group's breakup in 1968, Baker went on to form the short-lived supergroup Blind Faith with former bandmate Eric Clapton.

In his later years, Baker continued to drum including joining the band Hawkwind and forming the Ginger Baker Trio.

On September 25, Baker's family announced on Twitter that he was critically ill in hospital. On Sunday morning, the family reported that Baker had passed away peacefully.
