The Canadian Cancer Society is relocating its Chatham-Kent office.
But it's not going very far.
Community Offices Senior Manager Cindy Vinall said the Chatham office will be closed from Wednesday, December 11 to Friday, December 13 as they move from 746 Richmond St. to a new office at 419 St. Clair St.
"Where we are now, our lease is up and we have far more office than what we need, so we do want to be using our donor dollars the best way we can," said Vinall, adding they have had a lot of support through the process. "Everyone has been very, very helpful... we've had lots of volunteers come in to help us pack."
Vinall said the size of the building isn't the only advantage of the new location.
"There is lots of parking, particularly a very large parking lot in the back, so that makes it easy for our clients and donors," said Vinall. "It's very central -- we have had comments before that where we have been was just a little out of the busyness of the city, so we're hoping this will better suit the people we serve."
Vinall said the new location will open its doors at the St. Clair Business Centre on December 16, 2019.
The new office hours will be Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
