Maroons double Stars 6-3

The Chatham Maroons doubled up the St. Thomas Stars 6-3 on Sunday.

Kyle Fisher started the game off with two consecutive goals, one of which was a power play goal for the Maroons in the first period. Sean Aitken and Kolby Poulin responded with goals for the Stars 9:44 and 13:47  into the frame putting the game at a tie.

Adrian Stubberfield scored a power play goal 3:34 into the second period putting the Maroons in the lead by one. Ryan McKim and Dallas Anderson extended that lead by two with goals 12:37  and 18:30 into the frame.

Bryce Lewis responded with a power play goal for the Stars 5:56 into the third period. Kaleb Tiessen answered back with a goal 14:34 into the frame.

Chatham goalie Bryce Walcarius saved 32 out of 35 shots on net.

The Maroons will face off against the St. Mary Lincolns at the Pyramid Recreation Centre on Jan. 3, 2020. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
