Pantsless driver arrested in Chatham after drive-thru stop

Chatham-Kent police have pulled another local driver off the road who was allegedly cruising around without any pants or shoes on.

Police said they started looking for the vehicle shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday after getting a tip about a suspected impaired driver who had just left a drive-thru on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Officers caught up with the vehicle on Grand Avenue and attempted to pull it over, but said the driver kept going, eventually stopping on Croydon Street.

Police believed the woman behind the wheel was under the influence of alcohol and noted that she wasn't wearing any pants or shoes when she got out of her vehicle.

She was arrested and taken back to police headquarters for breath tests, but allegedly failed to provide two suitable samples.

A 39-year-old Chatham woman was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit and refusing to provide a breath sample. She was set to be released once she sobered up.

In a separate case earlier this month, police pulled over a 50-year-old woman who was allegedly cruising around without any pants or shoes on. She was also charged with impaired driving after some breath tests allegedly showed her blood alcohol concentration was more than triple the legal limit.
