Threatening letter from Toronto leads to charges
A 45-year-old woman who allegedly sent a threatening letter to Service Canada employees in Chatham is facing charges now.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called in to investigate Tuesday afternoon and were able to identify a suspect, who lives in Toronto.
Police in Toronto made the arrest and the woman was taken to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.
The accused was charged with criminal harassment and two counts of uttering threats and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Tip from the public leads to impaired driving arrest
A 66-year-old Walpole Island man is facing a future court date after a traffic stop led to a stop at police headquarters for some breath tests.
Police said they arrested the man after getting a tip about a possible impaired driver in the area of McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg at around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers believed the man had been driving under the influence of alcohol, so they took him back to police headquarters for breath tests.
The man was then charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit and later released with a future court date.

Stolen truck recovered, police still investigating
Chatham-Kent police have tracked down a pickup truck that was reported stolen over the weekend, but they're still looking for tips as to how it ended up in a bush area on Scane Road near Front Line.
The green 2012 Ford F-150 pickup was reported stolen from a residence on Teetzel Line sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Police said they found it Tuesday afternoon.

Jewellery targeted during daytime theft in Wheatley
Police are looking for leads after someone reportedly stole about $500 worth of costume necklaces and earrings from a residence on Wheatley Road.
Officers said it was taken sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Suspicious man turns out to be banned from store
A 26-year-old man is in more trouble with the law after he allegedly showed up at a local hardware store that he had been ordered to stay away from.
Police said the man was arrested Tuesday after officers got a tip about a suspicious man at the Home Hardware on Keil Drive in Chatham.
Investigators said the man had left the store by the time police arrived, but they were able to locate him a short distance away and later learned that he had previously been ordered not to attend that store.
The accused was arrested, charged with failing to comply with his release conditions, and then released again with a future court date.

Woman accused of moving without telling police
A 39-year-old woman who was supposed to notify officers if she changed her address is in trouble with the law again after she allegedly failed to do that.
Police said they learned earlier this week that the woman, who was released from custody last December, was no longer living at the last address they had on file.
Officers said she was arrested Tuesday afternoon, charged with failing to comply, and released with a future court date.

Four arrests on outstanding warrants
Chatham-Kent police have rounded up four more people who were wanted on outstanding warrants.
A 37-year-old Chatham man wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions was arrested Tuesday morning after police saw him walking around on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
A 25-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for breaching his probation order and failing to attend court was arrested when police saw him on Fourth Street Tuesday morning.
A 29-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for domestic-related assault, theft, failing to comply with his release conditions, and failing to attend court was arrested in Wallaceburg Tuesday afternoon.
And a 41-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for domestic-related assault and failing to attend court was arrested early Wednesday morning after police spotted him on Keil Drive South in Chatham.
