A fire inside of a school washroom forced the evacuation of Chatham-Kent Secondary School (CKSS) on Thursday.
Officials with the Lambton-Kent District School Board confirmed to Blackburn News that a small fire sparked inside of a second-floor washroom at CKSS at around 12:10 p.m.
Students and staff left the building as per protocol. The LKDSB said firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire, and they later cleared the building for re-entry around 1:20 p.m.
"The LKDSB continues to cooperate with Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services to determine the cause of the fire," read a statement from the school board.
