Buying booze and smokes with a stolen card
A 31-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after allegedly purchasing some alcohol and cigarettes with someone else's debit card.
Police said the investigation started when officers were notified that a local woman's wallet, which had her debit card inside, had been stolen from her vehicle overnight earlier this week.
Investigators said they were able to identify a suspect with the help of video surveillance and arrested him Tuesday night.
The accused was charged with possession of a stolen credit card, unauthorized use of a stolen credit card, possession of property obtained by crime, and fraud.
He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police Looking for Break and Enter Suspects (Photo)
Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public’s help to identify three people in connection with a break and enter in Chatham.
Investigators said it happened at 190 Thames Street on February 16, 2020 shortly after 4 a.m.
The first suspect is a white man wearing a red coat, a beige ball cap and blue jeans. The second suspect is a white man wearing a black coat with a furry hood, a black toque and black jeans. The third suspect is a white woman wearing a grey coat, a white scarf and had brown hair.

---Mischief charges laid after an incident at a local train station
A 36-year-old man is charged with mischief after an outburst at the VIA Rail station in Chatham.
Police said they were called to the scene at around 1 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious man there.
Officers learned that the man had allegedly thrown some garbage around, knocked over a vending machine, and triggered a fire alarm.
The accused was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Arrests on warrants
A 23-year-old Tilbury man and a 35-year-old man who were both wanted by Chatham-Kent police have been arrested.
Police said the Tilbury man was wanted for failing to comply with the conditions of his peace bond after a domestic-related incident. He was arrested Tuesday morning, charged, and released pending a future court date.
The 35-year-old man -- wanted for break and enter, theft, failing to attend court, and for his fingerprints -- was arrested in Windsor Tuesday afternoon and taken to the Chatham-Kent courthouse pending a bail hearing.
