Shoplifter busted

A man is in trouble with the law after getting caught allegedly stealing by an off-duty cop.

It happened around 11 a.m. Friday. The officer observed the man shoplifting $45 worth of items from the Canadian Tire in Chatham.

As a result, the 49-year-old was arrested and eventually released.

Two men arrested on warrants

Police were able to nab two men who were wanted on outstanding warrants.

First, around 10:30 a.m. Friday, a 30-year-old turned himself in at police headquarters. He was wanted for failing to attend court and breaching probation.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Then around 2 p.m., a 42-year-old who was wanted for breach of probation and failing to attend court was located on St Clair Street in Chatham.

He was released with a future court date.

Teenager arrested 

A 19-year-old was arrested in Chatham after breaching his curfew conditions.

Officers located him around 9:30 p.m. Friday on Queen Street.

After his arrest, he was held for a bail hearing.
