Essex MP Chris Lewis says his office will be closed for in-person interactions for the foreseeable future.

Lewis said in a new release Saturday, that he's taking this measure to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 by limiting social interaction.

Lewis said he and his staff will continue to serve the people of Essex, and will deliver all services over the phone, electronically, by mail.

Earlier this week, the House of Commons decided to take a pause because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Parliament will take a five week break and resume on April 20.

Lewis said during this time, he will also limit his attendance at public events.
