An annual local tradition has been put on hold due to concerns over COVID-19.
The Easter Seals Telethon for Windsor-Essex, scheduled for Sunday, March 29, has been postponed until May, according to Easter Seals Ontario. Jeremy Renaud, Windsor-Essex development officer for Easter Seals, said the move is for the protection and health of the regional ambassadors and all participants.
"We, at Easter Seals Ontario, believe that the safety of our supporters [panellists, VIPs, volunteers, venue staff)], sponsors and regional ambassadors is paramount and this was the key factor in the postponement,” said Renaud in a media release. "We sincerely appreciate the community’s understanding and flexibility at this time, and we look forward to announcing a new date once it has been established."
The event was to be held at the St. Clair College Student Life Centre on the main Windsor campus.
