Convoy to show support for Chatham's frontline workers

Chatham-Kent residents are being invited to show their support for frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The "Convoy of Courage" will be making its way through Chatham on Saturday, April 18 at 3 p.m.

Residents are invited to join the convoy of vehicles as it makes its way from the Galaxy Cinemas parking lot on St. Clair Street to drive by a number of long term care homes, fire halls, police stations, EMS headquarters, and the hospital in Chatham.

The convoy was started by Jennifer Eagleson, Michelle Medd, and Heather Little Blake in Wallaceburg back in March. Eagleson said they were inspired by the town of Kincardine, where residents drove through the town honking their horns to show support for local businesses, and a Canada-wide sing-a-long of the song "Courage" by The Tragically Hip.

Those participating can decorate their vehicles and bring signs and flags. The organizers just ask that everyone obey social distancing rules, and to obey all traffic laws
