The Grey Bruce Health Unit has developed a formal system of receiving local donations and the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment.
In collaboration with the Grey Bruce Health Unit, Bruce Power has confirmed that by the end of April the company will have distributed approximately 200,000 pieces of PPE in the area.
But further donations of masks, gloves, gowns, safety goggles, face shields, and Tyvek suits are needed to maintain an adequate supply.
These pieces are being distributed to priority organizations, such as long-term care, retirement, group homes, and others congregate living locations such as women's shelters, Community Living, and facilities housing the homeless.
Any organizations in need of PPE are asked to email Sarah Ellis at s.ellis@publichealthgreybruce.on.ca or FAX request to 519-376-7782. GBHU will follow through and itemize and prioritize all requests and organize delivery, or pick-up from the Health Unit.
Shipments will begin this week.
