UPDATE: Chatham man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

A 33-year-old Chatham man has been identified as the motorcyclist who was rushed to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Chatham Monday afternoon.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Monday at around 5 p.m., a motorcycle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Grand Avenue West and Keil Drive North.

Chatham-Kent EMS said the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with critical injuries and police later clarified that the injuries are considered serious, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision, a 17-year-old from Chatham, was not injured.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time. The damage is estimated at $25,000.

The intersection has since been reopened to traffic.
