Some Wellington North capital projects to proceed

Wellington North plans to go ahead with some capital projects that address a safety issue and impact the township's ability to provide service.

The projects must also be done with minimal risk to workers and the public

Protocols will be in place on worksites to ensure all public health recommendations are followed.

The following is the list of projects that are anticipated to proceed: • Reconstruction of William Street and Fergus Street South between Wellington and King Streets in Mount Forest and Isabella and Georgina Streets in Arthur (Moorefield Excavating) • Watermain Rehabilitation on Domville Street between Tucker and Clarke Streets in Arthur (Moorefield Excavating) • Sidewalk Installation on King Street East, East of 440 King Street East, in Mount Forest (Moorefield Excavating) • Storm Sewer Project near 685 Queen Street West in Mount Forest (Moorefield Excavating) • Upgrade to Arthur Wastewater Treatment Plant (Wellington Construction Contractors) • Communication tower upgrade at Arthur fire station (Bell) • Replacement of furnace Damascus Hall (Chalmers Fuels)

Wellington North’s facilities remain closed until further notice including, recreational facilities, playgrounds and parks. The municipal office is closed, however, staff are working and responding to emails and telephone calls.
