With public safety in mind during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bruce County has made the decision to cancel additional hazardous waste collection events.

Residents are being asked to properly and safely store their hazardous materials until the collections are deemed safe enough to continue. The cancelled collection events include:

May 2, 2020: Southampton Public Works Yard May 9, 2020: Kincardine Public Works Yard May 23, 2020: Walkerton Transportation Garage June 13, 2020: Eastnor Landfill, Ferndale June 13, 2020: South Bruce Peninsula Works Garage, Wiarton

The County will advise the public if any other waste collection events are cancelled.

“We continue to take this measure to continue following physical distancing to limit the risk of COVID-19.” said Miguel Pelletier, Director of Transportation and Environmental Services. “This is the time to stay at home, practice social distancing and help flatten the curve.”
