Corunna couple's bottle drive collects $3,000 to fight COVID-19

A recent bottle drive organized by a couple in Corunna has hauled in thousands of dollars for the Bluewater Health Foundation COVID-19 fund.

Erin and Jason Tombs Esau collected empties in their driveway on Saturday.

The event raised $2,489 for the Bluewater Health Foundation COVID-19 fund. The Corunna No Frills is contributing to the fundraiser to make an even $3,000, as well as donating supplies to the hospital.

The couple said friends and family, including their son Jake, helped make the initiative a big success.

There's also a “drive-by bottle drive” for the Inn of the Good Shepherd beginning Thursday.

Organizers are hoping to raise $5,000.
