15 additional workers at Greenhill Produce test positive for COVID-19

Over a dozen more workers at a local greenhouse production facility have tested positive for COVID-19.

On Saturday afternoon, Chatham-Kent Public Health reported that 15 more employees of Greenhill Produce in Kent Bridge tested positive for the virus.

The latest figures bring the total number of cases in the municipality to 135 with 95 being the result of the Greenhill Produce outbreak. Meanwhile, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent is at 49 with 45 of them at Greenhill Produce.

The outbreak was first declared on April 27. So far 50 workers have recovered.

A total of 2,324 tests have been performed so far with 64 results pending.

There are currently no outbreaks in local long-term care or retirement homes.

Province-wide, the case count reached 22,313 on Saturday with public health officials confirming 391 new cases.
