No new COVID-19 related deaths in Windsor-Essex

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is reporting no new deaths related to COVID-19.

The local number of fatalities since the pandemic began remains at 63 as of Saturday afternoon.

There were however 23 new cases reported, bringing the total to 866 with 929 test results currently pending.

The total number of individuals that have recovered from the virus in the region is at 478, up from 473 on Friday.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 outbreaks at local long-term care and retirement homes is at four while 14 of the previous outbreaks are now listed as being rescinded.

Provincially, the number of cases sits at 25,040 as of Saturday morning, up 1.7 per cent from the previous day.
