Active COVID-19 cases down across Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton has dropped to 16, down from over 30 a week ago.

Lambton Public Health reported on its website Monday night that the number of recoveries has gone up by three to 229.

There have been no new confirmed cases since Sunday night, and the death toll stands at 25.

Health officials continue to monitor an outbreak at Sarnia's Vision Nursing Home, where 26 residents and 27 staff members have tested positive for the virus.

To date, the health unit has received the results from 8,277 COVID-19 tests, 97 per cent of which have been negative.

Monday, Bluewater Health reported 11 patients in hospital have tested positive for the virus, 21 are suspected of having it with tests still pending.
