Province increases attendance limits for weddings, funerals

Attendance restrictions for funeral services and wedding ceremonies across Ontario are gradually being eased by the province.

The Doug Ford Tories announced in a release Saturday that wedding and funeral ceremonies taking place outdoors can now have up to 50 attendees, and that the number of people allowed to attend an indoor service is being extended to a maximum of 30 per cent capacity of the ceremony venue.

The release said for both indoor and outdoor events, those attending must follow proper health and safety advice.

The changes came into effect June 12 at 12:01 a.m.

The maximum number of people allowed to attend indoor or outdoor wedding and funeral receptions remains at 10 people.
