Five new COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex

The London-area saw a slight spike in the number of COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported five new cases. Prior to Sunday, one case had been reported each day for the past three days.

The total case count for the region now stands at 639.

Although there were multiple new cases, the health unit also reported on Sunday that three more cases were now listed as being resolved. Since the pandemic began, 564 people have recovered from the virus.

So far 57 people have died from the virus in the London-area, a number that hasn't changed since June 12.

Across Ontario, provincial health officials reported 129 new cases, which represents a 0.4 per cent increase over Saturday’s figures.
