Ford celebrates Stage 2 in Leamington with a hair cut

After promising not to trim his hair until Leamington and Kingsville joined the rest of the province in Stage 2 of reopening its economy, the premier will finally sit down in the barber's chair.

Doug Ford was at Mastronardi Barbering in Leamington Thursday morning.

Leamington and Kingsville finally joined Windsor-Essex in Stage 2 at the beginning of July after being held back because of COVID-19 outbreaks on farms in those municipalities. The rest of Windsor-Essex was allowed to advance at the end of June.

After his trim, Ford is expected to join the Mayors of Leamington and Chatham-Kent, Hilda MacDonald and Darrin Canniff, for a tour at Sunbrite Canning in Ruthven.

The session at the barber and the tour are not open to the media, but an event in Chatham-Kent Thursday afternoon will be.

Ford will join the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ernie Hardeman, at Craven Farms outside Chatham for an announcement.

The Cravens are a sixth-generation farming family that has operated in Chatham-Kent since 1844.
