Woman accused of stealing beauty products from Walmart
A 39-year-old woman spent the night in a holding cell after allegedly walking out of Walmart in Chatham with some products in her purse that she didn't pay for.
Police said they were called to the store Monday night, adding that through investigation, officers learned the woman had allegedly concealed various beauty products worth about $190 in her purse and left the store without paying for them.
Police were able to quickly track down the woman after receiving a physical description of her and the vehicle she left in. Officers pulled her over on St. Clair Street near Jackson Drive and arrested her there.
The accused is charged with theft and property obtained by crime. She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Argument turns physical
A 36-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged after a heated argument sparked an alleged assault.
Police said they were called to the residence in Chatham Monday afternoon after an argument between a couple turned physical.
Officers said a woman sustained minor injuries and a man was arrested and charged with assault.

Electronics, jewelry targeted during break-in
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in at a residence on Victoria Road in Ridgetown where someone took off with electronics and jewelry.
Police said it's believed the break-in took place sometime over the past four days, adding that the total value of the theft is estimated at $800.

No apparent theft after bakery break-in
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a separate break-in at Pardo Villa Acres Farm Market and Bakery on Talbot Trail in Raleigh Township, but in this case, it appears nothing was stolen.
Police said the break-in -- which took place at around 6:15 a.m. Monday -- caused about $50 damage and officers are still trying to track down a suspect.
