Harassment arrest leads to several charges 

An arrest after a domestic incident in Chatham led to several charges for one man.

The man was initially accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend and was arrested for multiple counts of criminal harassment.

When searching him, officers found a switchblade, suspected fentanyl, baggies, a scale and baking powder.

As a result, he was additionally charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon contrary to order, possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.

Man arrested after domestic disturbance

Officers responded to another domestic dispute in Chatham that also resulted in an arrest.

According to police, a man attended a woman's residence and she wouldn't let him in. The man then allegedly began banging on the window until it broke.

Police arrived on scene and arrested the man for mischief and breaching of a release order as he was previously released from custody with conditions not to attend the woman's address.

He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Two warrant arrests

Police were able to nab two people on Saturday in Chatham who were on their warrant list.

Shortly before 11 a.m., officers located a man in the area of Merritt Avenue who had a warrant out for his arrest.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported directly to South West Detention Centre without incident.

Then, around 9:30 p.m., police located a man in the area of Harvey Street.  The 21-year-old was known to police to be wanted for multiple counts of assault with a weapon.

He was arrested and released with a future court date in October.
