The Avon Maitland District School Board's Communications Manager says they're trying very hard to keep parents up to date on what the beginning of the school year will look like and they're passing on information as quickly as they can get it.
But Chera Longston adds they're being being very methodical and purposeful in terms of their consultation.
She says parents will get updated information as the process moves forward.
"This week they should expect sort of a broad kind of welcome from their school from the principal, whether it's in the form of a newsletter or an email, just giving them sort of an overview and also a reminder of the staggered start so that things don't get missed."
Longston adds, they didn't know until August 24th which students were going to attend in-person classes and who was going to be online.
"So when students get pulled out of the in-person school, for on-line, we have shift back around and that shifts, not only teachers, but also support staff like E-As, and you can't finalize those details until you know which teachers are in which buildings and which classes they're going to teach."
Longston says up to date information is being posted on the Avon Maitland Board web site, so if any parents have any questions they should find the answers there.
