Assault charge laid after resident gets soaked

A 26-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after he allegedly sprayed his neighbour with a garden hose during an argument.

Officers said a verbal argument between the two started on Monday afternoon on Wellington Street in Chatham. It's alleged the 26-year-old threatened his neighbour before spraying her with water.

He was arrested and charged with assault, uttering threats, and failing to comply with his release conditions for not notifying police of an address change.

Teens charged with mischief

Two teenagers from Blenheim have been charged after they allegedly spray-painted graffiti on picnic tables in the pavilion at Kinsman Park earlier this summer.

Police said a complaint was made on July 27. The graffiti included racial obscenities and gang-related symbols.

Following an investigation, a 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were arrested on Tuesday in Chatham and charged with mischief.

Man accused of breaking conditions

A 29-year-old Walpole Island man accused of breaking his probation orders is now in more trouble with the law.

Police said the 29-year-old was given several conditions in March, which included not communicating with a specific Wallaceburg woman and staying 100 metres away from her home.

He allegedly went to the woman's home on Saturday and refused to leave. However, he ran away after officers were called.

The 29-year-old was charged with two counts of breach of probation. He was released with a future court date scheduled for November 18.

ATV reported stolen

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a 2001 Polaris ATV reported stolen in Dresden.

The ATV, worth approximately $9,000, was taken from a residence on St. George Street, sometime early Monday morning. The ATV was last seen with Ontario license plates 4KZ11.
