Perth County Tourism has a new event happening to encourage people to shop at local businesses.
The Perth County Travelling Deal Wheel will be making stops at local businesses over the next 10 days, and Perth County Tourism Officer Ashley Brockelbank said the idea behind the wheel is very simple.
"Anyone who visits that business can then spin the wheel for a chance to win some great local gift cards, some Perth County swag items. We also have some overnight stays at accommodators around Perth County."
Brockelbank said COVID-19 and its impacts helped birth the fun new idea.
"We were trying to think of ways to get people visiting businesses, as well as continuing to have people discover new businesses during this time when they may be feeling a little less adventurous."
Beyond participating in this event, Brockelbank notes that shoppers can do simple things to help out local businesses impacted by COVID-19.
"I would encourage you to shop local as much as you can. If you're not able to be out shopping as much right now, maybe just go online, on social media and give your favourite businesses a shoutout and write them a positive review."
The Travelling Deal Wheel starts its journey on Tuesday at Life's A Party in Listowel, and will travel around until September 18th. To find out which business is hosting the wheel each day, follow Perth County Tourism on social media.
