HPPH receives donations for local youth

Huron Perth Public Health has welcomed a donation of  60 "Kids Fun Care Packages" for local youth.

The packages were made possible thanks to The Milverton Agricultural Society and the Optimist Club of Mornington, supported by the Government of Canada's Emergency Community Support Fund and Stratford Perth Community Foundation.

Children connected to the Health Unit through the Healthy Babies Healthy Children program, Mother and Young Child Clinics and school-based programs will be the recipients of this generous donation.

Families will receive one care package containing items purchased and collaboratively gathered by many local Perth East businesses.

"The Optimist Club of Mornington, in partnership with the Milverton Agricultural Society, hope to allow children to forget about our COVID-19 restrictions for a little while," said Optimist secretary Tricia Holmes Storey.

"We are proud to be a part of a community that values inclusivity," said Public Health Nurse Tara Smith, "and we're proud to work closely with clubs that role model the importance of advocating and  supporting our youth."
