UCC students not spooked out of helping others

A Halloween tradition at Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) was slightly different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, students were still able to help those in need through a food drive.

UCC students collected 2,100 food items for Chatham Outreach for Hunger through its Halloween for Hunger campaign.

“Although concerns about COVID-19 kept us from knocking on doors in our communities this year, we decided to do a grade-level competition,” said Principal Ray Power. "I want to thank Kathy Kearns and her great team for organizing this year’s event, which will be a tremendous support for our local food bank.”

The Grade 9 class was dubbed the "winners" of this year's Halloween food drive as the class donated more than 600 non-perishable items.
