Police seize drugs, stolen motorcycle during bust in Chatham

Two Chatham residents have been arrested and charged in connection with a drug bust at a residence on Lorne Avenue in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said members of the CKPS Intelligence Section executed a search warrant at the residence on Wednesday and found some suspected cocaine, fentanyl, liquid fentanyl, and liquid methamphetamine.

Officers also seized some debt lists, digital scales, and cash along with a 2003 silver Suzuki SK3 motorcycle that had recently been reported stolen from a residence on Couture Drive in Chatham.

Police said 40-year-old Kenneth Shoemaker of Lorne Avenue in Chatham was arrested and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 29-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with drug possession.

Both of the accused were later released with conditions and a future court date.
