New COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

There are 53 active cases, and another 17 probable active cases. There are also 211 high risk contacts associated with the active cases. And two people are in hospital.

Owen Sound, Grey Highlands, Blue Mountain, and Kincardine each had one new case. Hanover had two more confirmed, and there are six new cases in Southgate.  There is a probable case of COVID-19 associated with Sacred Heart high school in Brockton.

Huron Perth Public health reported six new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, and 48 active cases. Two new cases were confirmed in North Perth, three in Perth East, and one in South Huron.    The total number of infections has risen to 254. There have been a total of 14 fatalities since the pandemic began.

An outbreak at Cedarcroft Retirement in Stratford has now infected a total of 43 residents and 19 staff.  The outbreak at Knollcrest Lodge Long Term Care in Perth East is over, and there are no school or daycare outbreaks.

The Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health department reported 22 new cases of COVID 19 Thursday, and 126 active cases, and three hospitalizations. When it comes to just Wellington, there were nine new cases and 51 active cases.

An outbreak is ongoing in an old order Mennonite community in the northern part of the county.
