Huron Perth Public Health is reporting 27 new cases of COVID-19 Monday. There are now 54 active cases and three hospitalizations. The Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth Dr. Miriam Klassen says a COVID 19 outbreak continues at Northside Christian School, and St. Mary's Catholic school, both in North Perth, along with Cedarcroft Retirement home in Stratford.
Currently, Morris Turnberry has eight active cases. Bluewater has one active case, Goderich has one, Howick has two, and Huron East one. The number of active cases in North Perth is now up to 20. Perth East has seven active cases, Perth South has one, West Perth has one, and Stratford has twelve active cases.
Meantime, she suggests it might be months before the region receives a shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Klassen is asking everyone to be patient, promising each resident who want to will get their shot.
The Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 117 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, for a total of 266 active cases. Sixteen people are hospitalized with COVID 19.
In just Wellington County, 33 new cases have been identified, for a total of 45 active cases. Two people are in hospital battling COVID-19. Caressant Care in Harriston continues to practice outbreak protocols, and the virus has not spread in the home beyond the one staff member who tested positive. Mapleton has twelve active cases, Minto has ten and Wellington North has two.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit added two new cases of COVID-19 to the confirmed list today, for a total of 32 active cases. The new cases are located in Brockton and West Grey. There are six Active Probable Cases. 208 High Risk Contacts associated with active cases. Four people are in hospital. An outbreak continues at Lee Manor Long Term Care Facility in Owen Sound.
In Grey County, there are currently two active cases in Southgate, one in Owen Sound, two in Grey Highlands, two in Meaford, threee in West Grey, one in Blue Mountains and two in Hanover. In Bruce County, there are three active cases in Kincardine, one in South Bruce, two in Arran Elderslie, four in Saugeen Shores, one in Huron Kinloss, six in Brockton, and two in South Bruce.
