Domestic dispute in Dresden

A man will have to answer to charges after a domestic dispute in Dresden.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the area of Camden Street for a domestic dispute.

According to police, a 37-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were involved in a physical altercation.

The man was arrested for one count of assault and taken to the police station for a bail hearing.

Warrant arrests 

Two people have future court dates following a pair of warrant arrests.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, police were in the area of the WISH Centre in Chatham.

Officers located a 50-year-old Chatham woman in the parking lot. She was wanted by police and was arrested before eventually being released with a future court date.

Around midnight on Saturday, officers located a 53-year-old Chatham woman who had an active warrant for theft with Chatham-Kent police.

Officers arrested the woman and took her to police headquarters.

She was subsequently released with a future court date.

Construction bucket recovered

Chatham-Kent police have found a Rockland 2.5-tonne rollout bucket that was reported stolen from a property on Queens Line earlier this week.

Police said the yellow bucket, worth approximately $30,000, was taken sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

On Saturday, CKPS tweeted that the bucket was recovered on Friday at an address on Baseline Road.

The theft remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-436-6600 extension 7335 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
