Four more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at three schools in the London region.
The Thames Valley District school board (TVDSB) reported Monday night two cases at White Oaks Public in London and one case at Glendale High in Tillsonburg.
The London District Catholic school board (LDCSB) said it had a single new case at St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary in St. Thomas.
"Thames Valley wishes to assure the community that all staff, parents and guardians of affected school communities were immediately notified. Health units investigate cases to identify close contacts and follow up directly to provide specific testing advice," TVDSB said in a statement.
Only close contacts considered to be at risk of contracting the virus will be contacted by public health officials. They will be asked to stay home and quarantine for 14 days.
All schools are currently closed for the winter break.
The province has confirmed elementary students will return to in-person learning on January 11. Secondary students will initially go back to virtual learning before being allowed back in the classroom on January 25.
The Catholic board currently has six active cases within four schools, while TVDSB has 39 active cases within 30 schools. A breakdown of confirmed cases at the LDCSB can be found by clicking here. A full list of confirmed cases at the TVDSB can be found by clicking here.
