There are no classes going on at the moment, but more COVID-19 cases are reported at the University of Windsor.
The university confirmed Tuesday that three new cases were identified, none of which were related to any other positive case in the campus community.
"The individuals are self-isolating and all appropriate protocols and cleaning measures have been taken," read a media release from U of W. "The university continues to work with and support the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit as needed. There is no additional risk to the campus community at this time."
Most activity this past semester has been in an online learning format to minimize any spread of the virus. One major outbreak took place earlier this semester when several people who attended an unauthorized Halloween party on campus tested positive.
The university's offices are closed for the holiday break from Wednesday through Monday, January 4, 2021. The winter semester begins January 7 and will also follow a remote format.
In the meantime, the university asks students, faculty, and staff to practice proper physical distancing over the holidays and follow provincial guidelines, as well as those from the local health unit. The campus community is urged to frequently wash hands, use hand sanitizer, wear face coverings, and stay home if feeling ill.
