UPDATE: COVID-19 identified at four TVDSB schools

The Thames Valley District School board has confirmed more COVID-19 cases within some of its schools.

On Friday evening, positive cases of the virus were identified by the board at Summer's Corners Public School in Aylmer and A.B. Lucas Secondary School in London.

Another case was confirmed at A.B. Lucas Secondary on Saturday. Plattsville and District Public School, and Nicholas Wilson Public School also reported cases.

Summer's Corners now has two active cases while A.B Lucas has seven.

"Thames Valley wishes to assure the community that all staff, parents and guardians of affected school communities were immediately notified," the board said in a media release. "Health units investigate cases to identify close contacts and follow up directly to provide specific testing advice."

If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk. Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to quarantine for a period of 14 days.

All schools are now closed for winter break.
